For me, gifts aren't just for special occasions; I always want to give them with a sense of gratitude. Partly due to my work, I often buy things in advance when I find something that I think would suit a particular person. I encountered items at Barneys this time that have clear reasons for connecting the giver and the gift.

Gifts That Make Both Giver and Receiver Happy
I'd love to give the creative book "BARNEYS BOOK," filled with past advertising visuals, to dear friends, especially creative directors I work with.
It's packed with visuals shot by top photographers and is very engaging.
The cashmere stole from <Colombo> is for my 92-year-old father, and the earrings from <Lulu Frost> are for my sister. Neither of them really dress up anymore, so I hope this will be a chance to bring back some excitement for them. Small accessories are easy to give because they don't feel too imposing.
As a reward for myself, I chose a white trench coat from <MACKINTOSH>. It's difficult for Japanese complexions to pull off a white trench coat, but I think the traditional <MACKINTOSH> with its crisp material and silhouette will suit me.

Yoshiyuki SHIMAZU
Born in Kumamoto Prefecture. Moved to the United States in his teens, then to Europe, where he began his career as a stylist. After returning to Japan, he worked as a stylist for Magazine House's "POPEYE" and is now involved in styling and creative direction for fashion magazines, primarily for commercials and advertisements. He is also knowledgeable about music, known as a collector of a vast number of rock T-shirts and records, and he also DJs at his own pace.
