New Forms Born from Contemporary Interpretation and Exploration

The OLIVER GOLDSMITH archive in London houses over 5,000 pairs of glasses across 500 models. Before embarking on this collection, Nick Goldsmith conducted an exhaustive research within the warehouse. He selected eight models originally released between the 1970s and 1980s. Immersed in the passion of his predecessors, he re-examined their designs and merits, ultimately deciding to deconstruct and reconstruct them using a remix-like approach, which became the concept for the collection.



This led to the creation of the sixth collection, "Re: collection." Four of the eight models were reinterpreted using titanium sheet metal, while the remaining four were crafted as combinations of acetate and titanium.

The titanium sheet metal models – "Re: SANTA," "Re: RADLETT," "Re: PINNER," and "Re: TIPTON" – utilize a compressed 2.5mm titanium plate. The frames are formed by milling away everything except the inner diameter of the rim. The distinct raised shape of the eyewear is then coated with cloisonné enamel. Their titanium construction also makes them suitable for those with allergies.




The acetate and titanium combination models – "Re: DONA," "Re: LIBRALY," "Re: MUST," and "Re: RENZO" – feature an arrangement of the titanium bridge structure that was well-received in the fifth collection. The archive is reconstructed with custom-developed parts, including original rivet joinery at the temple connection, elegantly curved and comfortable nose pads, and cylindrical titanium temples.
