Mashup of Lively Backstage Scenes

Dior has released a short film for "Dior Split" by Doug Abraham, a visual commentator active on Instagram. Abraham, also known as @bessnyc4, is known for his art pieces that reinterpret fashion campaigns and pop culture imagery through decoupage.

The film centers on the "Dior Split" sunglasses from the Spring/Summer 2016 collection, reflecting their signature horizontal, border-like lines. It mashes up lively backstage scenes with photographs by Patrick Demarchelier. Alongside contemporary images, black-and-white photos from the 1950s featuring women in Dior are presented. The collision of content and clashing colors is the digital artist's signature.





The rounded metal frame lines of the "Dior Split" flow seamlessly into the ultra-thin temples, creating a contrast with the vertical lines formed by the metal inserts in the temples, evoking the stripes that are a key theme of the show. These sunglasses embody the collection's primary inspirations: femininity and delicacy, pure lines, and precise craftsmanship that balances strength and impact.
