FURLA Supports Documentary Production by Renowned Artist

Fondazione FURLA, a cultural support foundation hosted by FURLA, is now supporting the production of a documentary film capturing the performance art at the exhibition "The Abramovic Method" by world-renowned artist Marina Abramović, held at the PAC (Pavilion of Contemporary Art) in Milan.

An Exhibition Born from the Philosophy That "Art is Completed by the Audience"

Established in 2008 with the aim of continuing cultural projects and fostering international development, Fondazione FURLA has supported talented emerging Italian artists. The foundation is now collaborating with world-renowned artist Marina Abramović to support the documentary film production for the exhibition "The Abramovic Method" at PAC (the Pavilion of Contemporary Art) in Milan.

Marina Abramović, who debuted as an artist in Belgrade, former Yugoslavia, and has continuously created pioneering visual art works. She, also a patron of the FURLA Art Prize in 2009, explores the transformative power of performance art and the importance of the relationship with the audience in this exhibition.

The documentary, directed by Giada Colagrande, will reveal the full scope of the project and recount the spiritual and physical transformations of the participants who engaged with the artist and experienced the performance.

This exhibition is inspired by Marina Abramović's three recent performances and was born from a profound impact felt from her perception of the relationship between art and audience. Using installations embedded with minerals such as quartz, amethyst, and tourmaline, the exhibition is an experiential one where the audience can interact with the installations, and feel the world of "The Abramovic Method" by touching, standing, sitting, or lying down.
