The special doll order event, held on the 2nd floor of Barneys New York Ginza, allows customers to commission a stylish fashion doll by Andrew Yang, dressed in their chosen attire – perhaps a cherished item, a coveted look, or a wedding dress. Each unique doll, interpreted through Andrew's artistic lens, is a truly special creation and makes for an exceptionally valuable gift. A Special Display Appears at Barneys New York Ginza!

Additionally, from April 26 (Thursday) to May 7 (Monday), a special display featuring approximately 50 dolls will be showcased in the windows of Barneys New York Ginza.

The display, directed by Katsuhiko Taniguchi, Creative Director responsible for Barneys New York's overall visual image, offers a unique perspective. Mr. Taniguchi explains:

"The appreciation of dolls as art, seen in traditions like Bunraku and Ningyo Joruri, is perhaps deeply ingrained in the Japanese spirit. Andrew's dolls are highly sophisticated, essentially luxurious dolls for adults. Their appeal as interior decor or art pieces, resonating with both men and women, aligns perfectly with the concept of Barneys New York."

"Andrew's dolls are large, at 70cm, and possess a strong individual character, making them impactful even when simply arranged. For this display, however, we aimed for something that would evoke a sense of 'fun' and 'intrigue.' The theme is 'BEHIND THE SCENE,' revealing the world backstage. This is a signature approach for Barneys New York, expressing the atmosphere of a studio's inner workings."

"The setting is a photographic studio. Within a meticulously recreated miniature studio, complete with realistic lighting and even a small stepladder, you'll see a photographer peering through a viewfinder, a model striking a pose, and a studio assistant painting a wall nearby. In the adjacent room, a model is having her hair and makeup done. We believe this display offers a glimpse into the fascinating scenes of the fashion business that are rarely seen by the public," he shares, highlighting the display's key attractions.
