Trends in the Spring/Summer 2016 Collection
FILL THE BILL has garnered attention for its expanded womenswear line over the past two seasons, featuring collections with increased design elements, such as silhouettes. This season marks the start of its handling at "STEVEN ALAN," and it's also well-received in womenswear at "United Arrows Women's Building," where it debuted last season.
Focusing on the FILL THE BILL Spring/Summer 2016 collection, outerwear includes a long shirt jacket inspired by French work jackets, crafted from ultra-thin shirt fabric. This versatile item can be worn as a shirt or as a light coat. Also essential for styling are pieces like a sukajan jacket recreated from 1940s fabric, a long robe based on early 20th-century gowns, and a tailored jacket made from broken twill ramie.
In shirts, an indigo chambray pajama shirt is introduced, which can be worn as an all-in-one ensemble when paired with matching bottoms. Also notable are a pajama shirt with a distinctive collarless design and patch pockets, and an updated version of a band-collar shirt from the early 1900s. A sheep leather T-shirt offers a refined look, complemented by a camisole and shorts in the same material. An open-collar shirt based on a vintage bowling shirt is also available.
Knitwear highlights include a classic 1930s boat-neck cotton sweater and a cotton knit vest inspired by a 1940s AMERICAN RED CROSS vest.
For bottoms, the collection now features a four-pocket denim pant made from 13oz denim, a new staple. It has a moderate bootcut silhouette, available in both raw and processed finishes. The processed version showcases natural whiskers and fading achieved through meticulous hand-rubbing. Other notable bottoms include two-tuck pants made from an unusual blend of linen, silk, and rayon, garment-dyed for a unique texture, and two-tuck Gurkha shorts with an impressive sheen, inspired by vintage pajama designs.
Accessories include sheep leather hats that add an accent to any outfit, as well as braided hats crafted from paper material.
