Designs Unique to a Maison with Couture Craftsmanship

Bally celebrates its 160th anniversary. Founded in Switzerland in 1851, it is a luxury leather goods brand. While primarily known for menswear, they also produced many custom women's shoes. Last September, during Milan Fashion Week, an exhibition was held to commemorate the 160th anniversary.

The archives are filled with shoes and modern illustrations used in advertising, ideas that remain fresh today. The new collection for Spring/Summer 2011 features a revival of red sandals, originally created in 1951 and inspired by cat's cradle, their nude, lightweight feel is a perfect touch for this season.

Switzerland, at that time, was a hub for the production of high-quality haute couture lace. Lace is particularly in vogue this year, not just for clothing but also for bags, with 3D materials featuring lace and sequin embroidery making an appearance.

Roger Vivier is a heritage brand that held an exclusive contract for Christian Dior's haute couture shoes. While honoring this legacy, designer Bruno Frisoni crafts a modern world.

This Spring/Summer season is all about 3D materials. Accordion clutch bags in leather, with a three-dimensional quality like a pleated skirt, and pumps and shoulder bags adorned with mosaic-like patchwork were on display. Green, yellow, purple, pink. Why not play with intricate materials and beautiful colors this spring?
