Eco-Age and Organic Silk: A Joint Development
The collection features evening shoes inspired by the elegant butterfly motif, accompanied by a perfectly matched clutch bag. The fabric used is organic silk, spun, dyed, and woven in Italy by a family-run mill.
Sergio Rossi and its suppliers jointly developed this sustainable silk fabric specifically for this collection. It is the first sustainable textile to receive certification under the Green Carpet Challenge (GCC). Naturally, the Swarovski embellishments are lead-free.
Every detail reflects a commitment to the environment and its producers. This includes FSC-certified wooden frames, nickel-free metal plating, lead-free metal decorations, and chrome-free leather sourced within Europe. The brand has also committed to carbon offsetting, ensuring a thorough approach to sustainability. The collection was exclusively launched on the official online store on September 3rd (Thursday), followed by its release in select Sergio Rossi boutiques starting September 4th (Friday).
Angelo Ruggeri, Sergio Rossi's Collection & Design Director, commented, "Developing the organic silk yarn in collaboration with Eco-Age was an exciting endeavor. I am proud that this collection truly embodies the essence of our brand."
