A Platform for Independent Literary Exploration

Launched in 2013, the Prada Feltrinelli Prize is open to writers worldwide who possess the talent to explore and articulate our visual world through the written word. Developed in collaboration with Luxottica, the optical frames from the Prada Journal collection serve as tools to examine the world from different perspectives, observing things and people around us.

This year's theme is "Illuminations, Shadows, Mirages. Things are not always as they seem." Based on this theme, participants are invited to create short stories of approximately 10 to 20 pages in A4 format. The submission period closes on Monday, August 31. Entries are accepted in all languages, making participation possible from Japan.

The grand prize winner will receive a €5,000 award and their work will be published as an e-book on the Prada and Feltrinelli websites. Furthermore, the winning entries will be recited in a contemporary "theater of dialogue and social interaction," presented as a multi-dimensional literary experience through words and optical frames. The judging panel, composed of international figures from the publishing world, will select the winners. Panelists will be announced at a later date.

Eligibility: 18 years of age or older
Content: Short stories of 10 to 20 pages in A4 format (approx. 400 words per page)
