2015 New Yukata Available in Three Colors

The new HIROCOLEDGE yukata feature graphical patterns rendered in thin lines on a white base, offered in three colors: black, navy, and grey. HIROCOLEDGE yukata utilize two dyeing techniques: "Chusen," a traditional dyeing method passed down since the Meiji era, and "Digital Inkjet Printing," which allows pattern data to be directly printed onto the fabric.

Chusen: The Art of Beautifully Vivid Fabric Dyeing

The dyeing for the "Chusen" yukata is carried out at Kyowa Some Sarashi, a factory in Sakai City, Osaka, led by Mr. Takao Komatsu. He is the first Chusen craftsman to receive the Medal with Purple Ribbon this year, and Takahashi Hiroko places great trust in his work.

Chusen dyeing involves pouring dye onto the fabric, resulting in the same color intensity on both sides. This ensures that even when the sleeve edges or the underside of a folded hem are visible, the beauty remains consistent with the outer fabric. Furthermore, this technique dyes the fabric (cotton) without compromising its breathability or absorbency, making the yukata comfortable to wear.

The Latest Technology for Perfect Geometric Patterns

The cutting-edge "Digital Inkjet Printing" technique is employed at NesShige Orimono, established in 1938 in Tokamachi, Niigata Prefecture. This method directly translates digital data onto the fabric, minimizing distortion and allowing for subtle color variations and intricate patterns. It is the ideal dyeing technique for Takahashi Hiroko's geometric designs.

Embrace Summer Style with Yukata and Summer Kimono

At the Takahashi Hiroko Oshiage Studio, specialized staff take measurements for approximately 60 types of yukata and summer kimono, including HIROCOLEDGE's new collection. Skilled seamstresses then tailor each piece from the bolt of fabric, creating a custom fit unique to the wearer. All patterns are unisex, offering a wide selection for both women and men.

This summer, in addition to yukata and summer kimono, the studio also offers accessories exclusively available for purchase, such as vibrant obi made from Thai silk, original patterned Hakata obi, and paulownia geta sandals created in collaboration with Kurosawa Kirizai Ten in Aizu, Fukushima Prefecture.

We invite you to stylishly wear the yukata from HIROCOLEDGE, a brand that consistently pursues the essence of craftsmanship by valuing both time-honored traditional techniques and continuously evolving modern technologies.
