Competing in the Latest Collection, "ORC"!
Known as the "Everest of Sailing," the Volvo Ocean Race is the pinnacle event in the yachting world. The 2011-2012 Volvo Ocean Race began in Alicante, Spain, in November 2011 and is scheduled to conclude in Galway, Ireland, in July 2012, spanning approximately 40,000 nautical miles across the world's oceans over about 10 months.
Spanish footwear maker CAMPER has announced its participation in the 2011-2012 Volvo Ocean Race alongside the elite professional sailing team, Emirates Team New Zealand. For this grueling yacht race, Camper has developed innovative designs and high-performance products, unveiling the new "ORC" collection.

The first leg starts Saturday, November 5, 2011. Setting sail from Alicante, Spain!
The Volvo Ocean Race began in 1973 as the "Whitbread Round the World Race." It is the world's fastest monohull race, circumnavigating the globe eastward across continents. The approximately 40,000 nautical miles are divided into nine legs, featuring high-level competition.
The 2011-2012 Volvo Ocean Race starts in Alicante, Spain, in November. The first leg is to Cape Town, South Africa, followed by stops in Cape Town, Abu Dhabi, Sanya (China), Auckland, and Itajaí (Brazil). After crossing the Atlantic from Miami, the race proceeds to Lisbon and Lorient (France), with the final finish line in Galway, Ireland, after a total of eight port calls.
This race features a total of six boats, including the "CAMPER" team, "Groupama," "Team Abu Dhabi," "TEAM Telefonica," "PUMA," and "Spanish Team 2." Chris Nicholson, the new skipper leading Emirates Team New Zealand, boasts an impressive record, including three consecutive 49er World Championship wins from 1997, a 6th place finish at the Sydney Olympics, and a 7th place at the Athens Olympics. His Volvo Ocean Race experience includes AMER SPORTS ONE (01-02), MOVISTAR (05-06), and serving as watch captain on PUMA in the last race. He is considered a top contender for victory this time.
The "Camper Pavilion," adding excitement to the event, opened in Alicante, Spain, the starting port. It will also be set up in three other port cities—Sanya, Miami, and Lorient—according to the race schedule.

The Appeal of the Latest Collection, "SEAMAR ORC"
"SEAMAR (SEAMAR) ORC," officially approved and incorporated into the collection after trials by Emirates Team New Zealand, the "CAMPER" team competing in the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012. These official Camper boat shoes will battle the world's oceans alongside elite crews for approximately 10 months.

The "SEAMAR ORC" and "WATER RUNNER" (introduced on the next page), developed for the Volvo Ocean Race, are the most technical sailing shoes in Camper's history. They feature technical materials resistant to saltwater and prioritize functionality. This new line was co-developed with "Musto," a brand specializing in lifestyle apparel for technical sailing wear, offering performance suitable for various weather conditions.

The upper of the "SEAMAR ORC" is inspired by boat graphics designed by the prestigious British design studio Mark Farrow. The upper uses GTX, a suede-like synthetic leather that is both strong and quick-drying, and K-PLUS, a synthetic textile. Inside, an insole maintains a comfortable foot temperature. The cup sole design wraps the foot securely, and the rubber outsole offers excellent grip. The hidden laces prevent accidents.

Furthermore, a waterproof version of the "SEAMAR ORC" is available. Similar to the SEAMAR with its technical materials, it features a combination of a protective cup sole and a high-grip rubber outsole. Using waterproof leather and a moisture-blocking membrane, it keeps feet dry in any weather.

Check out the "WATER RUNNER (WATER RUNNER) ORC," which joins "SEAMAR (SEAMAR) ORC" in the "VOLVO OCEAN RACE COLLECTION" released to commemorate the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012.
Focus on the Details Designed for Sailing!
The "WATER RUNNER ORC" is a shoe with a light, flexible styling similar to running shoes, incorporating technology from the world of sailing.
The outsole, made with injection-molded EVA and minimal rubber, is ultra-lightweight yet provides excellent grip.
The upper uses quick-drying, saltwater-resistant technical materials, and the interior features tricot insole socks for a superior fit. The details designed specifically for sailing, along with a casual feel that complements any style, offer a fresh appeal.

Furthermore, Camper has launched an apparel collection for the Volvo Ocean Race. Inspired by the graphics of "V70 Camper Life Lovers," it is a complete casual collection designed to match the new shoe lines.
Similar to the shoes, the collection includes a waterproof spray jacket and a lightweight, breathable, warm fleece, developed in collaboration with the British brand Musto. Additionally, team t-shirts commemorating Camper's sailing adventure feature graphic patterns by Farrow Studio, inspired by the Camper boat and the brand's logo on the sails.
This unique pattern, born from Camper's original logo, serves as the trademark for the Ocean Race Collection and is used not only on shoes but also on bags and sunglasses.
