Expressing Free Ideas Beyond Conventional Notions

Tokyo, a city where diverse people, things, and cultures coexist and evolve, giving birth to a unique mixed culture. Based in this Tokyo, the long-awaited flagship shop for sacai, embodying "the reality felt by designer Chitose Abe," will open in Minami-Aoyama on Saturday, September 10th.

The flagship shop, offering all collections including sacai (womenswear, menswear) and sacai luck, proposes various styles that transcend the boundaries of each collection, expressing free ideas beyond conventional notions. Architect Sou Fujimoto, active both domestically and internationally, was chosen for the design. The design, which fuses contrasting elements such as "nature and artificiality," "inside and outside," and "new and old," brilliantly expresses sacai's vision of a new space.

First Shop-Exclusive Items: Three Sporty Pieces Unveiled

What's noteworthy is the introduction of items developed exclusively for this shop, separate from the main collection pieces. Following the shop's concept, these items propose real-life coordination based on "the reality felt by designer Chitose Abe." The debut features three pieces that masterfully blend sporty materials and items with sacai's signature essence of elegance, presented in a modern style.

A top and skirt set featuring a casual, sporty sweatshirt material with a washed finish, printed with a collegiate-style "sacai" logo. The addition of accessories layered with pearls, studs, and rabbit fur combines sporty and elegant elements. The logo print, not seen in the main collection, is a fresh touch.

A baseball t-shirt reimagined in a soft wool knit. The top, featuring a voluminous, three-dimensional drape created by a ribbed knit construction below the bust, is available in four colors. While based on a menswear item, the knit's texture and the compact, feminine silhouette lend it a casual yet elegant expression, characteristic of sacai.

For menswear, a popular cardigan has been selected. It features grosgrain tape in a contrasting color along the placket, four buttons with a foil-coated leather finish, and a candy-colored shell button at the very bottom. Available in four vibrant colors not found in the main collection.
