Gaultier Paris: "Plumbing the Depths of a Woman's Psyche"

Jean Paul Gaultier's couture line, Gaultier Paris, is in top form. Inspired by Natalie Portman's starring role in "Black Swan," the collection delved into the contrasting inner worlds of women with black and white. Delicate chiffon tutus peek out from within peplum jackets. Feathers adorn the hems of boldly flared skirts. A fiery dress features wet-look black feathers throughout. My favorite is a coordinated look with a sweater embroidered with feathers. It looks like something one could actually wear with a long skirt... The surprise model this season was Eve, who was active in the 1990s as a skinhead model. At the finale, Gaultier, as always, ran across the runway with his arms waving.

On Aura Tout Vu, which debuted over a decade ago, held its show under the summer sun amidst the trees of the Palais Royal. The designer, known for humorous and imaginative dresses, presented pieces this season using woven fabrics from Hinaya, a textile manufacturer in Kyoto.

Young Designers Transitioning from Ready-to-Wear to Couture

Alexandre Vauthier presented a series of crimson dresses in a dimly lit library. Alexis Mabille showcased elegant long gowns at the Châtelet Theatre, highlighting the distinction from ready-to-wear. It's notable to see many young designers shifting their focus from ready-to-wear to couture.
