Two Iconic Limited Editions
Maison Margiela appointed John Galliano as Creative Director last October.2015-16 Autumn/Winter Womenswear CollectionThe collection presented a feminine vision imbued with Galliano's signature romantic mood. Classical pieces, such as the slender maxi coat from the first look and a compact velvet tailored jacket adorned with small floral patterns, captivated the eye.
Maison Margiela's boutique, which garnered significant attention in Paris, opened its doors at Fukuoka's Iwataya on Friday, May 22nd. This marks the brand's first shop in Fukuoka, offering ready-to-wear womenswear, shoes, leather goods, accessories, and fragrances. As with other stores, the interior design was handled by Maison Margiela's design team. The predominantly white interior features unfinished-style molding on the walls and fixtures. Trompe-l'œil effects are playfully incorporated, such as the marble-patterned floor partially covered with carpet of the same design.
Additionally, limited-edition items have been released to celebrate this opening. These include boots with charming cylindrical heels featuring vibrant hand-painted daisy motifs, and a daisy-motif finger ring. Both were presented during the brand's 2015 Spring/Summer ready-to-wear show.
