With the urgent need for rapid diagnostic tools, this research will be conducted by Professor Mantovani and his laboratory, alongside virologists Professor Elisa Vicenzi and Professor Massimo Clementi from San Raffaele Scientific Institute, who were the first in Italy to isolate the pathogen responsible for SARS. The effort will pool all available technology and expertise to aid global health.

Furthermore, in collaboration with Humanitas University and Politecnico di Milano, they announced the creation of an innovative degree program in biomedical technologies, including scholarships. This new program aims to enhance comprehensive medical skills and technological approaches in biomedicine for physicians.
“We felt compelled to act. To fight this formidable virus that threatens all of humanity.
In times like these, it is crucial to make the right choices. We therefore considered Humanitas University, with whom we already collaborate on scholarship programs, the ideal partner, combining excellence in technology with humanity.
We believe it is important to take action, whatever the circumstances. Supporting scientific research is our moral duty. We hope our contribution can be of some help in resolving this major issue.”
