The Second Order-Made Shoes: Simple Yet Elegant
Atelier MIHARA YASUHIRO is releasing its second order-made shoe collection, "Invisible Shoes." Orders will be accepted from Saturday, September 4th to Sunday, September 26th at the Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO Omotesando Hills store.
Atelier MIHARA YASUHIRO's Craftsmanship: "Aburi Dashi"
Founded in 1997 as a shoe brand, Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO is characterized by its unconventional ideas and in-depth design work, earning it continuous attention both domestically and internationally.
Within the Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO Omotesando Hills store, the attached atelier is where the shoe masters, who have supported the brand's shoemaking since its inception, craft leather shoes by hand.
Following the previous "
Twisted Shoes", Atelier MIHARA YASUHIRO is now releasing its second collection of order-made shoes, "Invisible Shoes."
This collection features leather shoes with a simple yet elegant appearance. They are finished using the "Aburi Dashi" technique, a specialty of Mihara Yasuhiro.
"Aburi Dashi," true to its name "Invisible," refers to a special crafting method where parts like shoelaces are enclosed within the leather, and then subtly revealed through skilled craftsmanship.
The leather is tanned using a natural tanning process with a high tannin content. While labor-intensive, this method allows the shoes to develop a rich patina over time, revealing a unique character that is entirely your own.
The subtle color variations, reflecting the meticulous handwork, are achieved through a post-dyeing process, with each pair carefully finished one by one by the shoe master. The result is an antique-like texture. Color customization is also available this time.
Continuing from the previous collection, the Goodyear welt construction is employed. This method allows the sole to mold to the shape of your foot, ensuring a comfortable fit that adapts with each wear.
