Drawing inspiration from fashion, music, art, and culture both domestically and internationally, Katsu-yuki Yoshida and Kōmu Yoshida have established "KICHIZO," a new label dedicated to "made in JAPAN" craftsmanship with a global perspective. The collection, born from their insatiable curiosity and deep affection for the world they've experienced, will launch nationwide in early May.

What is Timeless Craftsmanship That Endures Beyond Trends?

In 2007, Katsu-yuki Yoshida founded "Porter Classic" with his son, Reo Yoshida. In 2009, Kōmu Yoshida, grandson of Kichi-zō Yoshida who established Yoshida Bag Works before the war, and nephew of Katsu-yuki, joined Porter Classic as chief designer, inspired by his uncle's work. With Katsu-yuki and Kōmu, both renowned hitmakers, united, they launched the new label "KICHIZO" in 2010.

Kōmu Yoshida, chief designer of the KICHIZO brand, was born in 1964. He designed numerous million-selling products for "Porter" from the 1990s onwards, earning recognition as one of the leading hitmakers in the bag industry.

Named after the founder Kichi-zō Yoshida, KICHIZO is committed to "made in JAPAN" from materials to sewing. While respecting Japan's traditional culture and the high skills of its artisans that resonate globally, the brand presents a unique style that combines quality, functionality, and design.

Porter Classic was born from a desire to return to the origins of bag making, to revive and preserve disappearing traditions and artisanal techniques for future generations. KICHIZO is a project undertaken by Katsu-yuki and Kōmu, who have brought numerous hit items to market over many years.

The theme for the first collection, available from May, is "Black." In addition to bags, pay close attention to the range of accessories.
