Introducing FREITAG F-ABRIC, Our Proprietary Fabric

FREITAG, known for its innovative products made from truck tarps, has unveiled a new material developed over five years.──The new fabric is called "F-ABRIC." It is made from bast fibers such as hemp, flax, and modal, grown in Europe using a process that is harmless and requires minimal water. Items made from F-ABRIC are now available at FREITAG Store Shibuya.

The Future of Fabric: Made from Bast Fibers

To develop and design "F-ABRIC," FREITAG formed a small team of fabric experts called "F-Crew." With the goal of creating durable, comfortable, and stylish workwear, the F-Crew spent months testing F-ABRIC for its toughness, wearability, and aesthetic appeal.

F-ABRIC is produced using as few chemicals as possible, with all manufacturing taking place within a 2,500-kilometer radius of FREITAG's factory in Zurich, Switzerland. This localized production process, from fiber to finished product, significantly reduces the environmental impact compared to conventional fabric manufacturing.

Fabric That Returns to the Earth, and is Recycled

Furthermore, all materials used in F-ABRIC, including the fabric, sewing thread, and selvage, are 100% biodegradable. Once its purpose is served, instead of being discarded, the garment can be returned to the earth, becoming fertile soil for new raw materials.

The jersey knit used in the long-sleeved shirts is compostable and features buttons made from Corozo nuts. This makes them not only durable but also biodegradable within three months.

F-ABRIC FOR EVERYONE

The collection includes the "E550 MALE WORKPANT" made from F-ABRIC broken twill (81% linen, 19% hemp), the practical "E170 FEMALE WORKDRESS" which combines a mid-length skirt and overalls, the temperature-regulating, antibacterial, and absorbent "E320 FEMALE T-SHIRT & E720 MALE T-SHIRT," the F-ABRIC jersey knit long-sleeves "E350 FEMALE LONGSLEEVE & E750 MALE LONGSLEEVE," and the "F799 F-ABRIC CONCEPT BAG" made from broken twill.
