Specially Designed Collection Pieces

MILAN-based brand "PORTS 1961" was founded in Canada in 1961 by LUKE TANABE, of Japanese descent. In 1970, the brand relocated to New York and achieved success as a purveyor of modern lifestyles rooted in elegance, subsequently opening exclusive shops in Europe and Asia. Currently, it presents its men's and women's collections at Milan Fashion Week.

"ALTERED IMAGES by CHRISTOPHER MAKOS" utilizes works by photographer Christopher Makos, a New York-based artist with a close personal relationship with Andy Warhol. These pieces have been specially designed by Fiona Cibani, the Creative Director of PORTS 1961.

Andy Warhol Transforms into a Woman!

Photographer Christopher Makos, originally from Massachusetts, studied under Man Ray and became active in New York in the 1980s. He shared a deep personal and professional bond with Andy Warhol, who called him "the most modern photographer in America."

The prints in this limited collection were captured in 1981. The image of Andy Warhol transformed into a woman is an homage to his mentor Man Ray's series of photographs of Rose Selavy, the female alter ego of Marcel Duchamp.

The collection is available in a limited release across seven major cities worldwide. In Japan, RESTIR has been selected to exhibit and sell the collection for a limited time.
