The process of creating "RODI's" characteristic wrinkles involves three large adults wringing the leather, letting it air dry for two days in that state, then spreading it out to air dry for another two days. While this could be completed in a single day using industrial dryers, Montana's artisans dedicate about four days solely to creating the wrinkles.

Furthermore, the unique color variations are achieved through a repeated manual dyeing process. This involves applying the dye, letting it dry, applying it again, and letting it dry again, taking approximately four to five days.


For the "RODI" leather, artisans are involved in almost every step of the process, from the creation of a single hide. Even in this era, they spare no effort in these highly labor-intensive tasks.

The material itself uses vegetable tanning, a method that avoids chemical agents. Furthermore, the rich, high-quality water of this region, available plant-based materials, and the climate suitable for drying all combine to create a unique material that meets Daniel & Bob.
