8-Eye Boots and 3-Eye Shoes as a Canvas

For its 2020 Autumn/Winter collection, Dr. Martens unveiled a collection spotlighting the work of post-modern artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Basquiat is one of the most influential post-modern artists of the 20th century. His iconic elements, such as skulls, cryptic symbols, and enigmatic epigrams, continue to captivate people to this day.

Emerging in the art world in the early 80s with works like "Hollywood Africans" and "In Italian," Basquiat pursued a unique style through self-teaching, defying convention.

Dr. Martens pays homage to his life and work, leading to this collaboration.

The collection uses Dr. Martens' iconic <1460> 8-eye boot and <1461> 3-eye
shoes as a canvas for his legendary art.

The <1460> features Basquiat's artwork for the Hip Hop album "Beat Bop," while the <1461> is printed with "Dustheads," creating items that symbolize the energetic and chaotic subculture.
