Stefano Pilati Presents His Debut Show
Stefano Pilati, who has served as creative director for esteemed brands such as Giorgio Armani and Yves Saint Laurent,...Spring/Summer 2014 Milan Collections...presented his first show as the newly appointed creative director of the Ermenegildo Zegna couture collection.

For this debut, Pilati established a clear concept for the Ermenegildo Zegna show: the collection exists as part of a script, communicating the brand's aesthetic through visual and auditory expression.

The venue, "CityLife"
The music was a collaboration between Maxence Cyrin, a French pianist gaining attention as a leading figure of the new generation, and Claes Olson, a Swedish techno-industrial musician. Piano melodies were mixed with mechanical sounds inspired by the Zegna Group's factories. Synchronized with visuals created by director Johan Söderberg, known for his award-winning work on short films and Madonna's music videos, these were projected as the show's backdrop.
The theme Ermenegildo Zegna and Stefano Pilati explored in this show was the "union of opposites." The collection, born from traditional artisanal tailoring, was presented amidst an installation inspired by mechanical industry, its apparent antithesis. On June 22nd, the "CityLife" area, a site of major urban redevelopment, was transformed by the world of the new Ermenegildo Zegna envisioned by Stefano Pilati.
