A polo shirt adorned with the "hat trick" mark of a dove, heart, and hat; a dress featuring the cute "high heel cat" mark inspired by a cat... The 2013 Spring/Summer collection from "BEAMS LIGHTS with MIC*ITAYA" has arrived, a perfect fusion of artist MIC ITAYA's unique peaceful worldview and the travel-themed label "BEAMS LIGHTS."

Five designs for men and five for women released.
The encounter between BEAMS and MIC ITAYA occurred at the MIC ITAYA exhibition "The Star's Atelier," held at B GALLERY in BEAMS JAPAN, Shinjuku, from April to May 2011. This unprecedented exhibition, spanning all seven floors of BEAMS JAPAN, generated significant buzz.
"That initiative led to me being invited to paint the mural on the wall behind the counter at 'BEAMS LIGHTS Shibuya' on the 4th floor of Shibuya Hikarie ShinQs, and then to create clothing. That's how 'BEAMS LIGHTS with MIC*ITAYA' began," says MIC ITAYA. This season, MIC is overseeing the entire design process, not just the textiles, for the release.
MIC believes that "Clothing is a package that envelops the body, from which a person's individuality, expression, and personality naturally emanate. It's the closest thing to the skin, and it represents the person whether they are wearing it or not." He is convinced that clothing can connect with individuals more directly than artistic works.
"Life as a Journey." Let's enjoy travel more.
The symbol of "BEAMS LIGHTS with MIC*ITAYA" is the "dove." MIC has a fondness for this motif, even holding exhibitions themed around it. "Doves are found in squares all over the world, symbolizing a journey of love and peace, and offering protection for safe travels. They often appear in my graphics, and I consider them friends with wings," he explains.
The "hat trick," inspired by street performers, and the "high heel cat," a cat that guides you through the city encountered on your travels, are among the lucky travel items and characters that evoke new cities, people, and landscapes, doubling the joy of wearing them.
"Another important element is the exhilaration that expands the imagination of travel. I want to create a wardrobe that allows us to share the freedom of embarking on a journey," says MIC. We encourage you to pay close attention to this capsule collection.
