A unique shoe, not yet released in Japan
This shoe development project, initiated in 2017, aimed to create footwear using materials that are environmentally conscious and can be produced sustainably through "cultivation."
The shoe's upper is made of 100% cotton, and the sole uses natural materials derived from corn. Additionally, the insole is crafted from castor bean oil, and it features 100% recycled packaging.

Regarding the background of developing such shoes, Bill McInnes, the project lead, stated the following:
"Many sneakers use petroleum to create the cushioning of foam materials and synthetic rubber. While 20 billion pairs of shoes are produced annually, their production methods are not environmentally sustainable. At Reebok, we decided to start by utilizing cultivable materials, opting for plants instead of petroleum-based substances. After extensive testing and development with sustainable resources, we have completed a plant-based shoe whose comfort and performance are on par with other shoes."
Reebok plans to continue further development. The result is an innovative sneaker that is 100% recyclable. Depending on interest, a release in Japan may be considered.
