Exhibition of Customized Shirts Held at DOVER STREET MARKET
Outside Japan, the customized shirt project saw participation from a stellar lineup including British cycling champion Bradley Wiggins, Blur frontman Damon Albarn, The Specials, designers Raf Simons, Peter Jensen, Walter Van Beirendonck, Christopher Raeburn, Neville Brody, Jamie Reid, Inez & Vinoodh, Exactitudes, and Eko Nugroho.
This project, celebrating the brand's 60th anniversary last year, involved collaborations with fashion designers, artists, musicians, and athletes who deeply love Fred Perry, using the original shirt (replica) from the brand's founding as a base. Sixty customized shirts, bearing messages for the 60th anniversary and unique designs, were completed.
Furthermore, in collaboration with DOVER STREET MARKET, an exhibition showcasing these exclusive customized shirts, with venue design by renowned set designer Andy Hillman, opened at DOVER STREET MARKET LONDON on January 26th. Following London, exhibitions are planned for Ginza and Beijing.
After the exhibition tour, these customized shirts will be put up for auction, with all proceeds donated to the "Amy Winehouse Foundation" (http://www.amywinehousefoundation.org/), a charity established after Amy Winehouse's passing to support young people suffering from illness, disability, poverty, or drug and alcohol addiction.
