Color: The Common Language of the Collection

There was a common language of "color" between Petit Bateau, born in France, and Studio Ghibli, born in Japan. Petit Bateau, which has been creating its own unique hues and dyeing techniques for over 100 years, was deeply impressed by the delicate color usage in Ghibli's films.

In turn, Ghibli felt a resonance upon learning about Petit Bateau's history and its meticulous attention to craftsmanship. Thus, their collaboration was realized through the shared appreciation of "color."



Petit Bateau has selected four works: "My Neighbor Totoro," "Spirited Away," "Princess Mononoke," and "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea." A special color palette inspired by iconic scenes has been created, with iconic items recreating those moments.

Vibrant greens evoking the forest where Totoro lives in "My Neighbor Totoro," contrasting pinks and greens captured from a scene in "Spirited Away," and vivid pinks inspired by the bright and energetic Ponyo—these newly developed colors, created in the color lab at Petit Bateau's own French factory, are incorporated into this extensive capsule collection.



Prints and embroidery feature beloved Ghibli characters such as Ponyo, Totoro, and Soot Sprites, adorning the items.

One of the items, a Marinière pullover for kids and adults, comes with patches depicting characters from the films, allowing for free customization. You can create a one-of-a-kind original pullover.

This capsule collection offers a wide range of styling possibilities. Coordinating as a family would surely be a delightful experience.
