Featuring New Balance's Classic Grey and Navy
The iconic "990" series from New Balance debuted in 1982 as an on-road running shoe. Developed with cutting-edge technology for its time, it was launched at a then-steep price of $100. It gained notoriety for its self-proclaimed "990 out of 1000" rating in contemporary advertisements. Since then, it has evolved through 12 iterations, including the "995," "996," "997," "998," "999," "990," "991," "992," "993," "990v3," and "990v4," solidifying its status as a masterpiece.
The "990v4 '1982'" limited edition arrives in New Balance's classic grey and navy colorways. The upper is crafted from premium grey pigskin suede and mesh, with navy accents on the tongue logo, the outline of the 'N' logo, heel detailing, and outsole. The embroidery "1982" on the foxing adds a special touch.
The "990v4 '1982'" will be released globally on the same day. Instead of New Balance's directly managed stores, sales will take place at a pop-up black container located in a certain area of Tokyo, priced at US$100 (a US$100 bill). Information regarding the sales location will be disclosed on New Balance's official social media accounts on Friday, April 13th, at 3:00 PM. Sales are on a first-come, first-served basis, so act fast!
