Adult Colorways and a Back-to-Basics Design

Last September, Barneys New York's Roppongi store opened with a heightened sense of luxury, themed "BETTER THAN EVER." To celebrate its first anniversary, the store is introducing items that reflect its forward-thinking fashion sensibility, unique to the Roppongi location.

The "FILA×BARNEYS NEW YORK" sneakers are part of the "BNY SOLE SERIES," a collaborative project with Barneys New York. Based on the "original tennis" design from the 1970s, when the Italian sports brand FILA entered the sports shoe market, these sneakers are a modern interpretation crafted from premium leather with concealed seams. The "BARNEYS NEW YORK" name is also featured on the insole and tongue.

Meanwhile, the "SEIKO×GIUGIARO DESIGN Collaboration Watch" is a reissue of a Seiko diver's watch designed by "Giugiaro Design," known for its industrial design work, including sports car aesthetics.

The boldly offset case, positioned to the left of the strap's center, was conceived to allow for smoother wrist movement underwater. Furthermore, the grip-equipped protector fixed to the side of the case not only shields the movement from impact but also facilitates the operation of the rotating bezel when setting dive times, showcasing Giugiaro Design's functionalist approach.

The design faithfully reproduces the original, from the protector and strap to the dial. Yet, the color has been unified into a Barneys New York exclusive black. The case back is also marked with a serial number, signifying its limited production.
