The "ANREALAGE MONTE Z" with Fun, Tech-Infused Features
Onitsuka Tiger and ANREALAGE have collaborated to create the "ANREALAGE MONTE Z" sneaker. While featuring a simple design, it achieves a comfortable fit through its mono-sock construction. The interactive features linked to a smartphone app are also noteworthy.

Promotional Film Produced Featuring Mirai Moriyama and Kousai Sekine
Onitsuka Tiger has released the "ANREALAGE MONTE Z" sneaker, a collaboration with ANREALAGE, designed by Kunihiko Morinaga.
This sneaker is based on the "MONTE POKHARA," originally released in 2009, which featured an outdoor-inspired aesthetic refined into a minimalist, futuristic form.
It boasts an easy-to-wear mono-sock structure that integrates the tongue and upper, with the upper drawing inspiration from the construction of a kimono. The toe box is characterized by its punched detailing.
The lineup includes two models, each with an interesting feature.
One model utilizes AR (Augmented Reality) technology; when a smartphone with the downloaded app is held over the sneaker, AR sound by Ichiro Yamaguchi of Sakanaction can be heard. The other model uses retroreflective material that reveals a pattern when photographed with a smartphone flash. Both designs embody ANREALAGE's signature duality, exploring the concepts of the everyday and the extraordinary.
In conjunction with this release, a promotional film was produced featuring actor Mirai Moriyama and filmmaker Kousai Sekine. The film production was handled by NION, the production unit to which Sekine belongs.
The film's concept is "Freedom and Oppression." As the design featuring black bars is the main motif of ANREALAGE's Spring/Summer 2017 Collection, the film prompts reflection on how drawing black lines can lead to the anonymization or revelation of people and things, and how meanings can be erased, altered, or denied.
