A Collaboration Between British Icons

13 Shades of Colour

John Lobb is launching three special shoes on September 1st. With Paul Smith's signature touch, these colourful creations reimagine the traditional John Lobb aesthetic. The shoetrees and boxes are also unique. OPENERS had the opportunity to interview Paul Smith, who visited Japan for this occasion, and Guillaume de Seynes of Hermès International.

John Lobb x Paul Smith: The First Colourful Partnership

In men's style, few things yield a greater impact than a subtle touch of flair or playfulness – a truth readily apparent when observing British gentlemen. A strong colour at the neck, for instance, can instantly enhance a man's masculine presence.

The silhouettes remain distinctly John Lobb. Yet, the colours command attention. The three models, offered in thirteen vibrant hues, born from Paul Smith's infusion of colour into John Lobb's classic footwear and launching on September 1st, are the perfect items for adding that playful, unexpected element to a man's ensemble.

“WILLOUGHBY”

The “WESTBOURNE” (£194,250) is an Oxford shoe featuring perforations on the toe. Crafted from calf leather, it boasts the distinctive uneven dyeing characteristic of “museum calf.” Available in four colours – Leaf Green, Lapis Blue, Iris Purple, and Pebble Grey – each is complemented by matching laces for a refined finish.

The “WILLOUGHBY” (£192,150) is a Derby shoe in cashmere suede. Offered in four shades – Spring Green, Ocean Blue, Regal Purple, and Sandy Grey – each pair comes with natural-coloured laces.

Both of these models include a dedicated shoetree, finished in a tone slightly lighter than the shoe itself.

Finally, the “LUCCA” (£89,250). These lightweight and supple suede loafers are available in five colours. As Paul Smith himself mentions in the video, they are the perfect pair for travel.

Incidentally, the boxes and shoe bags that house these exquisite shoes also bear a special logo.

For the full story behind this collaboration and the essence of these shoes, we invite you to watch the interview with Paul Smith himself in the video.
