More than 30 years later, TUMI has once again introduced an innovative product: the Tegra-Lite collection, which the brand proudly presents. This collection utilizes "Tegris® thermoplastic molded composite," a material developed by the materials and chemical company Milliken & Company®.

By layering and compressing Tegris—a material so robust it's used in armored vehicles for rescue operations, NASCAR race cars, and NFL protective gear—TUMI has achieved a lightweight yet exceptionally durable and impact-resistant construction. Remarkably, this material has never before been used in travel or accessory applications, making its debut in bags a first for TUMI.

The body features a bumper guard with a beautiful form inspired by car bumpers, and the handles incorporate TUMI's patented handle system, which provides structural integrity to the main body. Furthermore, the wheels are equipped with a wheel system capable of absorbing and dispersing impacts of up to 15G, showcasing meticulous attention to functionality. This is a masterpiece that embodies TUMI's latest technologies to the fullest.

The Tegra-Lite collection is available in four sizes to suit various travel needs. The color selection is a clean, single shade of Graphite (grey).

The interior includes zippered pockets and a storage space with straps.

However, the TUMI official website (tumi.co.jp) features a more stylish white color. This white variant is an exclusive color available only through the online shop. It comes in two sizes: one ideal for trips of about a week (W44.5×H71×D29cm) and a carry-on size (W35.5×H54.5×D23cm). Each size is a rare model, with only three units available for sale in Japan, making them highly exclusive.
