“m’s braque,” a label helmed by Paris-based designer Takahiro Matsushita, has released its much-anticipated 2012 Spring/Summer collection lookbook. Since the Fall/Winter 2010 season, the brand has focused on tailoring with “m’s braque tailleur,” further refining its sincere approach to craftsmanship. This popular brand’s elegant coordination is certainly worth noting.

This season's theme, “ST. TROPEZ,” refers to a resort town located on the French Riviera, between Marseille and Nice. It's a destination frequented by the affluent who enjoy Mediterranean cruises and shopping at high-end boutiques, and where sunglasses and hats are essential.

Inspired by this St. Tropez, the 2012 Spring/Summer collection expresses the resort style of celebrities and the upper class who grace this glamorous town, through traditional dyeing techniques, refreshing color palettes, and unique pattern making.

In “m’s braque tailleur,” noble colors and elegant dress styles are depicted using traditional Japanese dyeing methods such as Kikujin (chrysanthemum-colored dye) and Kōrozen (a deep yellow-brown dye).

Furthermore, the second collaboration with John Smedley introduces a lineup featuring Ryukyu indigo dyeing.

Key colors featured are white, blue, beige, and purple as main colors, with green, yellow, and black as accent colors.

The suits, with their broadly and dramatically curved lapels and a tight fit around the chest for a French chic silhouette, paired with flared pants that evoke the 70s, present a truly fresh look. The shirt variations are also abundant, offering a diverse range of designs including regular, long point, button-down, open collar, frilled, and safari styles.

For bottoms, the collection appeals with new balances achieved through sarouel pants, baggy pants, and painter pants made from light, elegant materials. The sense of lightness, characteristic of spring and summer, is expressed through volume and hem lengths.
