The Theme: "ONE OBSESSION"
Born in Thailand in 1975 and raised in San Bernardino, California, Eric Koston's journey began when he was recognized by skate legend Edy Elguera in 1992, leading to his inclusion in the H-STREET team. He later joined GIRL SKATEBOARD, a team famously featured in a video produced by film director Spike Jonze in 1996. Koston remains with the team today, while also developing his fashion brand, Fourstar, and conceptualizing and operating the skatepark, The Berrics.

This short film from OAKLEY is part of a new campaign that highlights artists and creators from various industries, inviting them to share their perspectives on what it takes to achieve their dreams and goals. The theme is "ONE OBSESSION," and Koston is the first featured individual. The film, approximately 90 seconds long, is set at the grounds of Lockwood Elementary School in America, where Koston skated with friends during his school days. Interspersed with rare footage from his youth, where he was engrossed in mastering tricks until he succeeded, Koston reflects on that time: "When I was a student, I was just absorbed in skating. Then, when you challenge something and achieve it, you become addicted." The short film, unfolding at a contemplative pace, is a work that allows viewers to feel his passion for skateboarding.

Oakley's origins lie in manufacturing grip manufacturers for motocross bikes and BMX, giving it a natural affinity for street culture. In the 1980s, the brand pioneered the sports sunglasses category, earning widespread acclaim from athletes globally. This technology and design ethos have since been applied to lifestyle sunglasses, favored by numerous icons of street culture and now deeply integrated into the fashion scene.
The model Koston wears in the film is the Asian fit version of "ENDURO™," a brand icon, released this March. Characterized by its classic Wellington frame design, this model has been refined with adjustments to lens angle and temple shape, ensuring a comfortable fit for Japanese facial structures. Available in a range of colors to complement any outfit, these sunglasses are poised to be a key accessory for the upcoming season.
