For the Spring/Summer 2015 collection, Yohji Yamamoto unveiled the "adidas SS Metallic by Yohji Yamamoto," a model based on the SS, a quintessential sneaker design. It is available at all Yohji Yamamoto (FEMME / HOMME) stores in Japan.

A Beautiful Fusion of Cracked Leather and Suede
The cracked leather upper comes in two distinctive colors: metallic red and black. While retaining the rubber shell toe, an icon of the SS, the eyelet area and tongue are crafted from suede. The "adidas SS Metallic by Yohji Yamamoto" features a soft leather lining.
The heel tab bears the adidas Originals trefoil logo, and the Yohji Yamamoto brand signature is stitched onto the side. The metallic red features black stitching, while the black model uses a unique, lustrous stitch blending silver and black, creating a distinct presence.
This model, an elegant and chic reimagining of the SS—a masterpiece sneaker born on the basketball court that transcended its origins to influence street culture—through carefully selected materials and design, is truly worth a look.
