"Ginza Shoes" Born from a Multi-Collaboration of Shoes, Leica, Photography, and Hand-Dyeing
A multi-collaboration is realized in Ginza, where Japan-made leather shoes and sneakers serve as the base. Photographer Ryoma Kashiwagi draws color inspiration from his "ginza troposphere" series, captured with Leica's innovative new system camera "LEICA T," and Tomohiro Nakagaki, representative of "YUHAKU," applies his dyeing techniques.—"GINZA GALLERY" will be held from Wednesday, March 4th to Tuesday, March 17th, at the event space "G Space" on the 7th floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi.

Color Inspiration from Photographs, Expressed Through Hand-Dyeing
Ginza Mitsukoshi's original project, "GINZA GALLERY," which expresses the multifaceted essence of Ginza—its people, objects, events, and shops—through shoes, is set to launch on Wednesday, March 4th.
Photographer Ryoma Kashiwagi, a devoted Leica user, was commissioned to "photograph the streets and sky of Ginza." Color artist Tomohiro Nakagaki then drew color inspiration from Kashiwagi's creations to hand-dye the footwear.
Live Dyeing Demonstrations by Tomohiro Nakagaki Also Held
The event space will feature an exhibition of Kashiwagi's "ginza troposphere" works and the LEICA T. Nakagaki himself will conduct live dyeing demonstrations on four days: Saturday, March 7th & Sunday, March 8th, and Saturday, March 14th & Sunday, March 15th. During these sessions, he will offer fine-tuning of colors.
The featured brands are three popular lines at Ginza Mitsukoshi for both business and casual wear: "Otsuka since 1872," "Cento Felina," and "FREGINO." The inherent beauty of the leather, achieved through techniques of layering multiple hand-dyed colors, deepens with wear, offering a rich patina over time.
Prices are as follows: "Otsuka since 1872" [orders begin March 4 (Wed.)] ¥49,680, "Cento Felina" ¥48,600, and "FREGINO" ¥38,880. The "LEICA T" (body ¥237,600, lens ¥210,600) is available for purchase at the Leica corner on the 6th floor.
Ryoma Kashiwagi

Since then, he has favored the durable Leica as his work camera, even in harsh conditions.
