Visuals Expressing the Brand's Muse and the Bandman's New Direction
THE NERDYS, a brand created by designer Nerkle, finds its muse in people deeply immersed in music, unconcerned with fashion. They appear on stage with an effortless air, as if they simply put on whatever clothes were at hand when leaving the house. THE NERDYS imagines clothing for these individuals, who find coolness in what might be considered unstylish, and this vision directly informs their creations.

──What was the theme/concept for the 2015 Spring/Summer collection?
The brand's icon is round glasses. Based on American traditional style, the brand offers a sense of craftsmanship within simplicity. The patterns for jackets, shirts, and slacks are designed for suiting, and we've focused on quality in all fabrics.
THE NERDYS aims for perfection through timeless design and superior tailoring, and each season we continue to focus on seersucker. Please pay attention to our seersucker material, a blend of silk, linen, and cotton.
──What were the key points and highlights of this season's lookbook shoot?
For the first four seasons since its launch, THE NERDYS exclusively featured seated photographs. This season, however, we've introduced a new approach. The bandman, who also serves as the brand's muse, has been the inspiration behind all our visuals, including this latest collection, and these new visuals signify our intention for future developments.
──What are the differences in styling, silhouette, and color compared to last year's Spring/Summer collection?
We've featured a female model in the styling for the first time. Otherwise, we continue to offer simple yet meticulously crafted proposals. The silhouettes are designed with a stable American traditional casual aesthetic in mind. The primary color is the brand's signature navy. We're also introducing stripes with a fresh, marine-inspired feel.
──What is the key look (coordination) for this season?
A grey shorts set-up. While the brand typically offers tailored suits each season, this time we've prepared a simplified version in a cut-and-sew fabric.

──What are the key items and key colors?
The key item, the stadium jumper, is made from our original seersucker fabric, a blend of silk, linen, and cotton. It's light like a cardigan, offers a casual style, and is a masterpiece crafted from luxurious materials. The key color is navy.
──What "materials" were you particular about this season?
It's a seersucker fabric created by using different silk, linen, and cotton yarns for the warp and weft. For the warp, we used cotton yarn with varying counts and twist rates to achieve the seersucker texture, while the weft uses a silk and linen blend yarn to provide luster, suppleness, and the characteristic crispness of linen. This results in a quality perfect for spring and summer.
──What are the signature items, silhouettes, or materials that define THE NERDYS?
Chino pants. We use twill made with high-quality GIZA70 yarn. The silhouette strikes an exquisite balance between casual taste and tailored trousers, offering a versatile fit for any styling.
──What supports the brand's creativity?
Dedication. It's a passion for obsessive attention to detail in clothing.
