Visualizing the Comfort of Time Spent at a Close Friend's Home
The theme for dunhill's Spring/Summer 2015 campaign is "ESCAPE."
Building on the concept established in the Autumn/Winter 2014-15 collection, the campaign evokes a world reminiscent of weekends spent at a friend's home or journeys to distant lands. The visuals capture refined and intelligent young gentlemen relaxing with friends.
The campaign features three models across six distinct shots: Louis Elliot, Andrew Cooper, and Alex Blamire. Each embodies a different facet of the dunhill man and a distinctly British sensibility.
A country house in the English countryside, understated furnishings in soft hues, and a palette of gentle light and color. All elements reflect the refined aesthetic of Creative Director John Ray's color story for the season.
“Spring/Summer 2015 Campaign” Making Movie
Against a backdrop evoking leisurely holidays in the countryside or by the sea, photographer Annie Leibovitz masterfully captures the essence of the dunhill man – an individual whose "effortless style, born from a considered approach to dressing, possesses a unique personality that transforms even the simplest combination into something compelling."
John Ray commented on his second campaign for the brand: "The British gentleman respects the conventions of dress and self-expression appropriate to the occasion. Yet, he also possesses an inherent playfulness that allows him to subvert these rules unconsciously. We are often surprised by his ability to wear mismatched details or unconventional styling with an air of nonchalance, which I believe is the very essence of Britishness."
