In 2015, the sneaker world buzzed with the resurgence of the iconic Superstar. JOURNAL STANDARD Omotesando has selected the "Superstar Vintage Deluxe Pack," a reissue of the model produced in the 1980s. Notably, they offer it for both men and women, demonstrating their commitment. The release date is Saturday, January 24th.

This model features a supple smooth leather upper and felt for the iconic adidas three stripes. The felt texture adds a touch of sophistication, making it a perfect match for chic casual styles. The gold accents on the tongue print further elevate the mood.

The Superstar was born in 1969 and worn by NBA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Its comfort was so remarkable that it inspired the famous quote, "It feels like the three stripes are painted directly on my bare feet!" The shell toe, designed with a seashell motif for protection, remains a distinctive and beloved icon to this day.

In the 1980s, the Superstar achieved massive popularity as a fashion item when worn by the rap group Run-D.M.C., who brought hip-hop culture into the mainstream. At the time, the trend of wearing Superstars without laces, following their example, swept the globe. This popularity continued into the 90s, solidifying its status as a sneaker symbolizing street culture. Now, in 2015, the Superstar is re-emerging as a fashion icon. Catch this momentum at JOURNAL STANDARD Omotesando.
