"HELLY HANSEN ROYAL MARINE CLUB" Debuts
This winter, Helly Hansen, a brand with over 130 years of history, will release a collection unlike any before. Products Born from the History of Seafarers' Workwear
Helly Hansen views workwear as functional and practical, designed to facilitate focus on the job. Furthermore, the value of classic fabrics, along with impeccable tailoring and authentic details, speaks to the timelessness of a man's wardrobe.
A key feature of the new "HELLY HANSEN ROYAL MARINE CLUB" product line, which emphasizes material selection, is the use of "Finx Cotton," made from the finest Giza cotton, and the original "SUPER100 Wool Melton."
The "R.M.C MONTY DUFFLE COAT," a Tribute to Field Marshal Montgomery
The duffle coat, named after Duffel, a Belgian town that is the origin of melton fabric (Duffel in English), was originally developed as workwear for North American fishermen. It later gained widespread recognition when Field Marshal Montgomery of the British Army adopted it as military attire during World War II.
While originally conceived as a protective cold-weather coat for work, allowing for easy donning and doffing even with gloves, this modern interpretation features a sharp silhouette that maintains mobility, balancing contemporary wearability. Details from the era, such as the signature service pockets, are faithfully reproduced, while the use of genuine buffalo horn for toggles and buttons adds a touch of luxury. Navy leather is used for the toggle fastenings, and a throat tab is included at the neck.
The Modern Marine Coat "R.M.C SEAMANS COAT," Inspired by Navies and Fishermen
This is a modified, modern single-breasted version of the pea coat, which was adopted by navies worldwide as shipboard uniform and commonly worn by fishermen in Brittany, France. While traditionally a double-breasted design for protection against wind and rain, this coat, like the duffle coat, has been adapted into a sleek, easy-to-fasten single-breasted style to suit contemporary fashion.
The gently curved sleeve attachment creates a tailored silhouette, and the details include complete service pockets. A detachable throat tab is attached to the neck for wind protection. All buttons are made of genuine buffalo horn, adding a luxurious feel.
The "R.M.C TRENCH COAT FP LINER," Where Trench Coat History Meets Modern Elements
The trench coat originated during World War I when the British Army developed it as a waterproof garment for the cold European front. This item updates that century-old functional beauty with original details.
For cold weather protection, it features a windstopper (storm strap, throat tab) and a Fiber Pile lining. Service pockets are included for smartphones and modern devices, and the belt is made of a water-resistant, high-density fabric of the same material. The buttons are a semi-matte genuine buffalo horn. The silhouette is a modern A-line, considering the inherent functions of outerwear, with raglan sleeves offering excellent mobility.
The "R.M.C WORKERS VEST FP LINER," Perfect as an Inner Vest
Originally conceived as a fashion item in the 16th century as an "inner garment," the vest became recognized as a functional piece for all occasions by the mid-19th century. Its sleeveless design enhanced the mobility and work efficiency of laborers, establishing its status as workwear that offered both warmth and storage.
For the "HELLY HANSEN ROYAL MARINE CLUB," this collection incorporates the functional neck details from Helly Hansen's waterproof coats, reinterpreting the work vest with a Fiber Pile lining. The front pockets include service pockets for smartphones and modern devices, and the buttons are a semi-matte genuine buffalo horn.
