Nike designers have unveiled their latest training shoe, featuring hexagonal Nike Zoom cushioning—the shape renowned for its strength in nature—placed precisely where athletes need it most, based on foot pressure distribution maps and sport-specific test results. The "Nike Zoom Hypercross TR," designed for high-intensity training and equipped with Nike Zoom Air cushioning for enhanced responsiveness and quick toe-offs, will be available in its signature volt color on October 3rd (Friday) at Nike.com and select retailers.

The "Hexagonal" Shape: Delivering Responsive, Bouncing Propulsion

The latest innovation—Nike Zoom Air—brings lighter weight and improved forefoot flexibility──The Nike Zoom Hypercross TR, utilizing Nike's acclaimed Zoom cushioning, arrives as footwear that meets every demand of the evolving high-intensity training environment, including workouts.

To mark the announcement of the latest Nike Zoom Air, Shanae Hannah, Senior Director, and Nathan VanHook, Footwear Design Director for Nike Athletic Training, visited Japan from the company's headquarters in the United States.

Shanae Hannah explained, "When we considered the ideal shape for Nike's best Air unit, the hexagon came to mind. While Air units are like balloons, the unique responsiveness of Zoom Air comes from highly stretchable fibers woven in an extended state within the high-pressure Nike Air unit. When impact occurs, the stretched fibers inside the Zoom Air momentarily relax before returning to their original state, creating a highly responsive, bouncing propulsion."

Furthermore, Nathan VanHook stated, "Athletes who are fans of Nike Zoom Air will be delighted. The Nike Zoom Hypercross TR incorporates hexagonal Nike Zoom Air, the latest innovation in cushioning technology, to achieve lighter weight and improved flexibility. More importantly, the crisp responsiveness of Zoom Air is now felt in the areas where athletes training at full intensity need it most."
