Apply with a soft cloth, do not spray directly

"Alden Leather Defender" is not a waterproofing spray, but a leather protection spray with water-repellent properties. Apply a moderate amount to a soft cloth and spread evenly over the entire shoe. This creates a film on the shoe's surface that repels water. While water-repellent sprays can sometimes leave a cloudy residue, a key feature of Alden Leather Defender is that it maintains the shoe's luster without clouding.

It is important to note that spraying directly onto the shoe (leather) can leave marks and cause stains. Always spray onto a soft cloth and then apply to the shoe.

A "two-layer coating" applied twice is recommended

Alden Leather Defender dries in about 15 minutes after application, so it is recommended to repeat the same process from the beginning to create a "two-layer coating." After application, the spray absorbs into the leather over time, making it ideal for daily care, such as applying it in the morning before heading out if rain is expected in the afternoon.



Suitable materials include calfskin and cordovan. It cannot be used on napped leathers such as suede and nubuck, nor on patent leather or exotic leathers. However, it can be used on other leather products like belts, bags, and wallets, as well as on shoes other than Alden, so consider it for caring for all your favorite leather items.
