According to the staff at the J.M. Weston Aoyama store, orders for loafers are most frequent from spring to summer, while the 'Golf' model is popular from autumn to winter. Notably, there has been a recent increase in orders from staff at select shops and vintage clothing stores.




The ordering process begins with a foot measurement at the store. Next, the desired model (design) is chosen, and a fitting is conducted with a ready-made shoe of the correct size. Then, the materials and colors for each part are selected. If exotic leathers or materials not typically stocked are chosen at this stage, an inquiry and quote will be obtained from the Limoges factory. Once the price is confirmed, a deposit, typically half the amount, is paid. Production then commences at the J.M. Weston workshop in Limoges, France.

Pricing Includes a Surcharge; Delivery Takes Around 4 Months

Customers can select from over 150 options, including more than 20 types of leather and 5-7 color variations. In addition to the upper leather and outsole, fine details such as stitching and the decorative stitching on the apron can also be chosen.

A staff member at the Aoyama store commented, "With the expanded range of leather options, we're seeing more new customers as well as repeat clients." J.M. Weston's fitting philosophy is based on the understanding that "over time, the shoes will mold to the foot's shape and the leather will stretch," so the ideal fit at the time of ordering feels snug and secure, with the foot filling the shoe completely.




Additionally, bespoke orders come with special color shoetrees and boxes. The bespoke service is offered at a price that includes a surcharge on the standard model's price.

Bespoke Orders Also Available for Belts and Bags

J.M. Weston offers bespoke options not only in standard calfskin but also in exotic leathers such as alligator, lizard, sharkskin, and peccary. Delivery times may vary depending on the item, so please inquire at the store.




Furthermore, bespoke orders are possible for belts and bags. For instance, the 'Angle 1 Business Bag' can be customized with approximately 50 leather combinations, such as calfskin x calfskin or suede x calfskin. It is also possible to create a matching set of shoes, belts, and bags, all in coordinated materials and colors.
