FRED PERRY | The "FRED PERRY × Jamie Reid" Polo Shirt
New from the collaborative "Blank Canvas Project"
FRED PERRY × Jamie Reid Polo Shirts
The "Blank Canvas Project" views Fred Perry's iconic classic polo shirt as a blank canvas, upon which popular designers create their works. This time, the collection features a collaboration with Jamie Reid, an artist famously known for his artwork for the Sex Pistols. It will be available from April 8th (Tuesday) at Fred Perry Laurel Harajuku and Fred Perry Laurel Osaka.

Art that champions individuality and inspires a free spirit
Collaborative items featuring Jamie Reid's bold artwork on three of Fred Perry's basic polo shirts have arrived. His unique perspective clearly highlights current issues, reacting sensitively to infringements on freedom, and prompting reconsideration of political and spiritual viewpoints and stances with intense anger and sharp humor.
"A Short Sharp Shock" is his trademark "ransom note" style, created in 1987 by cutting and pasting letters. The phrase "A Short Sharp Shock" is emblazoned on a black and gold polo shirt.
This phrase was first used in "The Mikado," a comic opera created in 1885 by Gilbert and Sullivan. This opera, which also gained popularity in the music scene, extended to the punk movement, giving birth to this iconic design. The left sleeve of the polo shirt features his symbol "OVA," combining the initial letters of "Victory" and "Anarchy," and his signature is also present on the hem.
The "BOUDICCA" model features Boudica, the Celtic queen who rebelled against the Roman army. The artwork, depicting Boudica thrusting a spear at the parliament building, symbolizes defiance against the establishment and order.
Based on the style number "M3" model, the shirt features an OVA mark embroidery and multi-color screen print on the front. The back displays a full-scale rendition of Delacroix's "Liberty Leading the People in Revolt," surrounded by buildings in Croydon, southeast England.
"Time for Magic" is designed from a selection of Jamie Reid's recent works, featuring a wild rabbit as a motif, symbolizing free thought. The screen print of the wild rabbit and the "Time for Magic" text embroidered in bronze are on the back of the black "M12" model. The front features the OVA motif in bronze embroidery and white screen print.
