“Creating clothes I genuinely want to wear”

At its core, it's about the clothes I want to wear and create.──“BLACK & BLUE” offers a style that fuses classical details with modern cutting, based on the designer Masato Fukuhara's theoretical knowledge and experience as a patternmaker, while incorporating the essence of vintage clothing he has collected.

──What is the theme/concept for the 2014 Spring Summer Collection?

I don't set a theme each time; I simply develop items that I genuinely feel are good and that I want to wear.

──What were the key points you focused on for this season's lookbook shoot, and what should people pay attention to?

We styled the pieces to be easily incorporated into everyday life, creating a sense of movement.

──What are the differences in styling, silhouette, and color compared to last year's Spring Summer collection?

We've made the sizing slightly more relaxed. While the design of our standard shorts remains largely unchanged, adjusting the pattern has resulted in an overall cleaner silhouette.

──What are the key items and key looks?
The key item is a camouflage pattern setup, with each piece meticulously hand-finished by artisans. This forms the collection's key look.

──What "materials" did you focus on this season?

We used silk that has been washed to achieve a unique texture and feel.

──Please share your personal goals for 2014, whether for work or private life.

We launched a women's line last season. I want to expand the brand's scope from both the designer's and patternmaker's perspectives.
