The Latest Running Shoes with Unbelievable Rebound
Adidas has unveiled its latest running shoe, the "springblade," developed over six years and featuring a midsole made of 16 high-rebound blades. It is available from February 20th at all Adidas direct stores, the Adidas ONLINE SHOP, Adidas RUNBASE, and select Adidas retailers.

Born from Inspiration from a Vaulting Horse's Reuther Board
The "springblade" running shoe features 16 high-rebound blades made from Adidas's proprietary high-tech polymer material. Each blade is engineered with varying lengths, hardness, angles, and thicknesses based on its placement, considering factors like ground contact, foot movement, and the function of adjacent blades.
When weight is applied to these high-rebound blades, they flexibly cushion the impact, contrary to their rigid appearance. Additionally, stabilizers in the heel enhance the shoe's overall stability.
A New Running Experience, Like Floating on Air
Traditional EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate) materials, which return impact energy vertically, result in energy loss in the forward direction. However, the high-rebound blades, arranged diagonally and made from Adidas's proprietary high-tech polymer, store and flex energy like a pole vaulter's pole, releasing it powerfully in the direction of travel.
The outsole, designed with minimal surface area while maintaining rigidity, captures landing energy and efficiently transfers it to the high-rebound blades. Compared to conventional EVA, the springblade achieves a 19.4% improvement in propulsion.
First released on August 1, 2013, in the Americas, the springblade, a running shoe with a novel concept, received high praise in each region. In Brazil, it achieved remarkable sales, selling out 8,000 pairs within a week of its launch. We encourage you to try this innovative running shoe this spring.
