—Congratulations on the opening of the Tokyo Midtown store. Why did you choose Roppongi for this location?

Our Marunouchi store is close to Tokyo Station and Ginza, attracting customers from all over the country. For our second store in Tokyo, we had envisioned a place offering exclusive services, perhaps discreetly located on a side street. However, we found an excellent location in Roppongi, which led us to this decision.



—It's been about two weeks since the store opened. How has the response been?

Many customers who purchased items live in the vicinity of Roppongi and are buying John Lobb for the first time. We've seen very positive results.

—OPENERS also featured the "Midtown Special". Are there any particular sales trends?

Globally, black Oxford shoes like the "Philip" and "City" are overwhelmingly popular at all John Lobb stores. However, at the Tokyo Midtown store, models with a slightly more casual feel, such as the buckle-strap "Midtown Special," are proving popular.The "William" in "Mystic Black"is also well-received, and the lizard models sold out very quickly.

—Then, could you tell us about John Lobb in 2014, Mr. Matsuda?

This year, we introduced "Personal Style"tiesandgloves, and we plan to expand our item range next year as well. Furthermore, our "BY REQUEST" bespoke shoe program is scheduled for April to May, and we are proceeding with plans to add new models that can only be ordered through "BY REQUEST" this year.
