Monochromatic Models of the Signature "Multi-Mater" Sneakers Now Available


First introduced in the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, Balenciaga's "Multi-Mater" sneakers are among the most popular items in the men's collection. For the Spring/Summer 2014 Men's Holiday Collection season, the lineup includes monochromatic models where all parts—including the sole—are a single color, such as black, red, and blue.

An Effective Combination of Three Types of Leather


Since their debut, the "Multi-Mater" sneakers have symbolized Balenciaga's men's collection. Building on a design with distinctive paneling, the brand has previously released various iterations, including multi-colored versions and those using exotic leathers.

This season, the sneakers are unified in a single color, creating a graphic impression. Three types of leather—lambskin, calfskin, and suede—are used, with the three-dimensional arrangement of parts lending a new expression. Particularly striking is the stitching that makes the leather appear like ribbed stripes. This technical arrangement, utilizing the soft nature of lambskin, results in a design that is both luxurious and dynamic.
