White Mountaineering
2013-14 Autumn/Winter Collection Presented as a Show at Pitti Immagine Uomo
Proposing New Forms of Wear, True to the Fundamentals
“This season, White Mountaineering focused on materials. We have items that incorporate switching as a design element, based on simple solids overall, and for patterned items, we have camouflage prints and jungle patterns,” says designer Yosuke Aizawa. Let's incorporate the 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection, which made its world debut at Pitti Immagine Uomo, the world's largest menswear trade show, into your wardrobe.

This Season's Theme is the Brand Concept Itself
──What is the theme/concept for the 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection?
This season's theme is “White Mountaineering.” Based on the brand concept that “all fields where clothes are worn are outdoors,” we have condensed the brand's identity itself into this season's collection.
We have always considered how to bring out the excellence of outdoor wear and instill new values. We propose new forms of wear, true to the fundamentals.
──What are the key looks (coordinations) for this season?
The first look, shown upper left, is a coordination that condenses the brand's iconic aspects. The padded outerwear features an original textile where even the subtle brushstrokes are reproduced. The inner knit is our regularly offered round yoke knit, coordinated to create an impactful look that serves as one of this season's key looks.
Focus on Camouflage Print and Jungle Pattern
──What are the "materials" you focused on this season?
Overall, we are also offering many items that incorporate switching as a design element, based on simple solids. For distinctive patterned items, we have our original textile camouflage print and jungle pattern.
Camouflage Print
Inspired by the natural textures found on tree bark, this pattern was created by hand to achieve an unprecedented camouflage. We adopted inkjet printing, which allows for a more precise expression of material texture than conventional printing.
Jungle Pattern
This is inspired by an old carousel we saw at a museum overseas. As it featured various animals, we adopted it as a textile image. It depicts animals (tigers, lions, giraffes, sheep) with saddles, set within a forest.
