COMOLI Fall/Winter 2013-14 Collection
COMOLI
Focus on designs that leverage the inherent qualities of fine materials, finished with minimal processing.
A brand born from meticulous material development.
Keijiro Komori, the designer behind COMOLI, explains the highlights of this season's looks: "We aim for looks where the elements inherent in the garment itself—such as the texture, sheen, and silhouette—take center stage, with styling elements kept to a minimum."
Text by KAJII Makoto (OPENERS)
Crafting simple clothes that feel comfortable against the body.
──What is the theme/concept for the 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection?
We don't set seasonal themes. We design with the idea of creating clothes that feel most comfortable in a particular moment and place, inspired by everyday scenes.
──What is the key look (coordination) for this season?
A coordination featuring a single-color palette: an ecru crochet cardigan paired with black leather pants with a textured grain, and an ecru wool waffle knit tee as an inner layer. Each piece possesses a distinct presence, brought together in a harmonious ensemble.
──What are the key items and key colors?
The key item is a reversible coat made from nylon with shape-memory wrinkles and knit. The key colors are navy and camel.
──What "materials" did you focus on this season?
As a brand, we begin with material development, so we are particular about the materials for all our items. What unites all our materials is that we finish fine raw materials with minimal processing, translating their inherent characteristics into the designs.
──What is the most rewarding aspect of being a designer?
The relationship between my own sensibilities and reality.
──A message to your fans.
We aim to create simple clothes that feel comfortable against the body, not through logic, but through intuition. We look forward to your continued support.
