“We made it without any particular affectations, just as it is,” says Soichiro Ito, designer of “soe.” For the 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection, we focus on the “real clothes” that lie between the street and the runway, a space the brand excels in.

──What is the theme/concept for this season's 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection?
This season's theme is “GRAY CAMPUS.” It’s a schoolwear collection centered on gray, evoking the image of a campus under a cloudy sky.
──What is the key look (coordination) for this season?
Campus looks centered on gray. We're imagining snobbish, humorous university students.
──What are the key items and key colors?
A reef jacket in gray flannel, and a gray award jacket.
──What "materials" did you focus on this season?
Corduroy made from velvet, which expresses a soft texture and a deep luster.
──What is the rewarding aspect of being a designer?
The process of creating a single piece through collaboration with many people.
